Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston, Santana and Ortiz wrestled Jericho Appreciation Society in an Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing pay-per-view. Jericho Appreciation Society won the bout. During the match, Bryan Danielson suffered an injury. However, the exact nature of the injury was not disclosed.
Since then, he did not appear on AEW television and missed several meet & greet events. Forbidden Door pay-per-view is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 26th. Danielson has been rumored to face NJPW star Zack Sabre Jr at that event, but it will depend on the severity of Danielson’s injury.
Earlier this week, AEW president Tony Khan announced that American Dragon Bryan Danielson is scheduled to appear on tonight’s AEW Dynamite to address his status for Forbidden Door PPV and next week’s Blood and Guts Dynamite.
On Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez noted that Bryan Danielson is not expected to return to wrestle anytime soon. Alvarez added that Danielson would be announcing the match between him and Zack Sabre Jr on tonight’s AEW Dynamite, but the match will not take place on Forbidden Door PPV or Blood and Guts Dynamite.
What I can tell you is that even though they were talking about Bryan Danielson vs. Zack Saber Jr on Rampage, which was taped last Wednesday and even though he was announced for the show this coming Wednesday, the impression I was given as of today is that he is not cleared and he might not be cleared for a while.-H/T Ringside News
He could show up tomorrow and announce that there is a match against Zack Saber Jr, but right not I’m under the impression that the match is not going to take place, and I’m also thinking that he may not be doing Blood & Guts. That is not confirmed, so we’ll know more when he does his promo.
Recently, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported that Bryan Danielson had not been medically cleared to compete as of last Wednesday.
