Cody Rhodes suffered a torn pectoral tendon during a brawl with Seth Rollins on the May 29th episode of Monday Night RAW. Cody competed against Seth Rollins at WWE Hell in a Cell despite being injured. Then, Cody Rhodes was written off from WWE television following Seth Rollins' attack on Monday Night RAW.
Cody's wife, Brandi Rhodes, announced The American Nightmare successfully underwent surgery in Birmingham, Alabama. Since then, Cody Rhodes has updated his injury status through Instagram stories.
WWE announced that Cody Rhodes would be out of action for nine months. However, in a recent Instagram story, American Nightmare seemingly hinted that he would be returning to WWE in less than nine months.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported that WWE is planning to make Cody Rhodes’ return at Royal Rumble next year. He also added that they want Cody’s return as Triple H’s 2001/2002 comeback.
After attacking Cody Rhodes on the June 6th episode of Monday Night RAW, Seth Rollins has now set his sights on the Money in the Bank briefcase. Drew McIntyre, Omos, Sheamus and Seth Rollins are now qualified for the men’s Money in the Bank Ladder match so far.
WWE Money in the Bank premium live event is scheduled to take place on July 2nd at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada.
