Jeff Hardy was arrested for driving under the influence on June 13th at 9.55 A.M in Volusia County, Florida. Later, Hardy was bonded out of jail on Monday at 7:07 P.M after paying a $3,500 bond. This arrest was his third DUI arrest within the last ten years.
Following Hardy’s arrest, AEW President Tony Khan issued a statement on social media stating that he suspended Jeff Hardy without pay. However, Khan recently gave a positive update regarding Hardy and noted that Hardy had been entered into alcohol rehab treatment.
PWInsider has reported that The Charismatic Enigma has filed his plea of no guilty regarding DUI and other charges on June 28th. Therefore, Hardy is not set to appear in court on July 5th as initially scheduled.
Defendant, Jeffrey Nero Hardy, pursuant to rules 3.160(a), Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure, waives arraignment by filing this written plea of not guilty. Albritton v. White, 948 So. 2d 852, 854 (Fla. 2d DCA 2007). Defendant further waives the right to be present at all pretrial conferences.
Jeff Hardy was released from WWE in December last year after walking out from the six-man tag team match at WWE live event. Prior to his release, WWE had offered Jeff to take alcohol rehab treatment. But, he was reportedly refused it. So then, Hardy made his debut in AEW on the March 9th episode of AEW Dynamite. The company had a plan to put AEW World Tag Team Titles on The Hardys, but it was canceled after Jeff Hardy’s DUI arrest.
