The 35th annual SummerSlam premium live event is scheduled to take place this Saturday at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee and eight matches have been announced for the event.
Five Championship matches will be set to take place on the show and all of them are re-matches from the past premium live events. The show will be headlined by the Last Man Standing match between Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
SummerSlam is starting at 8 p.m. ET and the kickoff show is one hour before the main card at 7 p.m. The United States fans can watch the event on Peacock and the fans who live outside of the USA can watch the show on WWE Network as usual.
Here are the 2022 WWE SummerSlam Predictions.
The Usos (c) vs. The Street Profits for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles (Special guest referee Jeff Jarrett)
Street Profits failed several times to capture the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles. Earlier this month, Street Profits wrestled against The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles at Money in the Bank PLE but The Street Profits lost the match. The referee did not see Montez Ford’s shoulder was up while counting three. As a result, WWE added a special guest referee to their SummerSlam match and it’s non-other than double J, Jeff Jarrett. The Bloodline is the most dominant faction in WWE and The Usos should not lose the titles until the right time comes. Our Predictions: The Usos retain their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles.
Liv Morgan (c) vs. Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women's Championship
Liv Morgan’s childhood dream was come true at Money in the Bank earlier this month. She successfully cashed in her MITB contract on Ronda Rousey to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. Liv got a lot of support from WWE fans. SummerSlam is Liv Morgan’s first championship defense at a premium live event and Liv has to overcome the former UFC Champion Rousey. The Baddest Woman On The Planet has been something missing after her comeback at Royal Rumble and therefore this is not a good time to put a SmackDown Women’s Championship on Rousey’s shoulder again. Our Prediction: Liv Morgan retains her SmackDown Women’s Title.
Pat McAfee vs. Happy Corbin
Pat McAfee and Happy Corbin’s storyline started over McAfee’s “Bum Ass Corbin” comment on the June 17th episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Both superstars have a unique skill to engage with the fans. Our Prediction: Pat McAfee wins the match.
The Mysterios vs. The Judgement Day in a No Disqualification Tag Team Match
The Judgement Day has now strong again after Rhea Ripley’s return. Finn Balor, Damian Priest, and Rhea Ripley are attempting to get Dominik to their faction. Our Prediction: The Judgement Day wins the match.
Logan Paul vs. The Miz
The Miz and Logan Paul teamed up at WrestleMania 38 and defeated The Mysterios. Following the match, Miz shocked the fans after hitting Skull-Crushing Finale to Logan. Now, Logan Paul is looking to take his revenge on The Miz at SummerSlam. Our Prediction: Logan Paul wins the match.
Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Theory for the United States Championship
Bobby Lashley became the United States Champion for the third time after defeating Theory at Money in the Bank PLE. However, the same night Theory grabbed MITB briefcase and became the youngest Mr. Money in the Bank. Theory demanded a rematch against Lashley for the US title at SummerSlam and Lashley accepted it. This is the hardest bout to predict on the card as both superstars must win to continue their momentum. Our Prediction: Theory becomes the new United States Champion.
Bianca Belair (c) vs. Becky Lynch for the RAW Women's Championship
Bianca Belair’s momentum was seriously damaged after she lost her SmackDown Women’s Championship to Becky Lynch in a 26-second at last year’s SummerSlam. However, at WrestleMania 38 Belair was able to regain her momentum after she became the new RAW Women’s Champion. Belair doesn’t have to drop the title soon as she needs a lengthy title reign with more credible opponents. This should be the last time that Bianca and Becky face each other. Our Prediction: Bianca Belair retains her RAW Women’s Title.
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing Match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship
WWE continuously booked Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar matches in the past few years. In most of the matches, Reigns ended up getting the victory. Although, WWE has made the SummerSlam bout more interesting with Theory’s threat of MITB cashing. However, as long as The Usos and Paul Heyman are at ringside, it is hard for Brock Lesnar to capture the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Our Prediction: Roman Reigns retains his Undisputed WWE Universal Title.
