Ronda Rousey wrestled against Liv Morgan for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam this past Saturday. Rousey dominated against Liv throughout the match but Liv ended up getting the victory in a controversial finish.
In the closing moment of the match, Liv Morgan tapped out to Ronda Rousey’s armbar submission but the referee did not see it and counted three when Rousey’s shoulders were on the mat.
Following the match, the former Women’s Champion attacked Liv Morgan and the referee which led to Rousey being fined & suspended indefinitely. It is reported Rousey would be returning to the squared circle in less than a month.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer noted that Ronda Rousey has been advertised for the Clash at the Castle premium live event which will be held on Saturday, September 3rd at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
Not that long. She’s booked on the Cardiff [Clash at the Castle] show, so she’s going to be unsuspended at least before...I don’t know when she comes back. She’ll be out for I don’t know how long, but it’s not going to be a month. Put it that way because she’s got to be back for the pay-per-view show.- H/T WrestlingNews.co
There’s only one match that has been added to the WWE Clash at the Castle card and that is Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
