CM Punk Reportedly Quit From AEW

CM Punk made his AEW debut on the inaugural episode of AEW Rampage on August 20th last year. Four months later, Punk captured his first championship in seven years by defeating Adam Page for the AEW World Title at Double or Nothing pay-per-view. However, Punk suffered a foot injury that caused him out of action for two months. The company announced the Interim World Championship Eliminator Series to crown an Interim World Champion and Jon Moxley was able to win it.

Last month, CM Punk made his return from a foot injury and challenged Jon Moxley to a match for the Undisputed AEW World Title. Moxley defeated Punk in a quick squash match on the August 24th episode of AEW Dynamite.

Earlier this month, CM Punk became the AEW World Champion for the second time by defeating Jon Moxley at All Out. Punk's comments at the AEW All Out media scrum led to a huge altercation in the AEW locker room. Punk, The Elite, and a few others were suspended due to the incident and AEW President Tony Khan stripped Punk from the AEW World Title.

Wade Keller of PW Torch discussed CM Punk’s situation and noted that he doesn’t expect Punk to be back in AEW.

I am not expecting CM Punk to wrestle in AEW again. I'm not saying it's 100 percent sure thing but everything is pointing in the direction of some sort of buyout of his contract. We'll learn more eventually about that situation.

Last night at AEW Grand Slam, Jon Moxley became the AEW World Champion for the third time by defeating fellow Blackpool Combat Club member Bryan Danielson.
