Roman Reigns is unstoppable ever since he won the Universal Championship at Payback in 2020. Earlier this month, Reigns was able to defeat Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Clash at the Castle. There are no other top superstars remaining in the main roster to face The Tribal Chief.
Today, Pro Wrestling Illustrated acknowledged Roman Reigns as the number one ranked wrestler on PWI 500 list in 2022. This is the second time that Reigns being number one on the PWI 500 list. He became number one in 2016 as well.

The evaluation period for the 2022 PWI 500 is from July 1st, 2021 to June 30th, 2022. The criteria for ranking include win-loss record, influence on the sport, technical ability, success against the highest grade of competition and success against the most diverse competition.
