WWE Reportedly Planning To Separate Roman Reigns' Titles Before WrestleMania

Roman Reigns won the Universal Championship at Payback in 2020. Since then WWE put Reigns as the most dominant champion in the modern era of WWE. At WrestleMania 38, Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar and unified both WWE & Universal Championship.

Most recently, Roman Reigns successfully retained his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship by defeating Drew McIntyre at Clash at the Castle in front of sixty-two thousand UK fans. But Many thought McIntyre would be able to dethrone Reigns.

Now, WrestleVotes reported that the situation of Reigns as the double champion is “complex”. They added that the company wants two champions before WrestleMania 39 but they don't want to drop the titles from Reigns.

The situation w/ the world titles & Roman Reigns is “complex” according to a source. They would like to go into “Mania season” & WrestleMania itself with 2 champions, but they also don’t want Reigns losing AT ALL prior. I’m told HHH & co are open to all things creatively here.

WWE’s next premium live event Extreme Rules is scheduled to take place on October 8th at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. However, The Tribal Chief is not competing on the show. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer noted that Reigns will be at Crown Jewel but the opponent is not decided yet.

We will update you when we receive more details. Stay tuned with The Spotlight.
