WWE's Current Plan For Liv Morgan's Opponent At SummerSlam

Liv Morgan missed several opportunities for captured the Women’s Championship before last night’s Money in the Bank premium live event. She competed with six other competitors in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. In the end, Liv Morgan was able to grab the MITB briefcase. She quickly cashed her Money in the Bank contract just like previous Women’s MITB holders.

After Ronda Rousey retained the SmackDown Women’s Championship, Liv Morgan waited no time, cashed her MITB contract on Rousey, and became the SmackDown Women’s Champion. Later, Rousey hugged Liv and left the ring.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the newly crown SmackDown Women's Champion Liv Morgan. Meltzer said that WWE is planning a Liv Morgan vs. Ronda Rousey match for SummerSlam.

Right now, the plan is Liv Morgan and Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam, which kind of surprises me in a lot of ways, especially because they didn’t leave with any heat. Ronda just hugged her, walked out of the ring, and let her have her moment. They’ve been building for this with Liv Morgan for a while. It is interesting, though, as I think almost everybody figured it was going to be Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam, and it’s not.

Currently, the company has announced only two matches for SummerSlam, which is scheduled to take place on July 30th.
