CM Punk’s AEW All Out post-show press conference made huge headlines throughout the week.
During the post-All Out media scrum, CM Punk said that he has nothing to do with Colt Cabana being drafted to ROH and Punk clarified his infamous lawsuit against Cabana. Then, Punk blamed Adam Page for going business for himself on national TV. Also, Punk ripped EVPs of AEW for spreading bogus rumors to make the top guy weak.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported that CM Punk had the idea to make the All Out press conference more interesting a couple of weeks ago.
One person noted that Punk two weeks ago when he returned said that the press conference after the PPV would be interesting.
On Wrestling Observer Radio Bryan Alvarez said: “I do know that if you talk to people there…they believe that this had been planned and that he was fully intending to go in and do exactly what he did on that day.”
Meltzer added, “It was very clear it was planned because it was so practiced and everything. I think that the idea was he wanted to use Nick Hausman (Wrestling Inc’s journalist) to tell his speech on Colt Cabana, which was pretty out of context, really.”
However, Tony Khan now brought an independent firm to investigate the entire situation and there have also been two key witnesses who saw the whole backstage incident.
