AEW Fired CM Punk's Ally Ace Steel Due To Backstage Fight

AEW became a huge headline in the pro wrestling world last month after CM Punk and the EVPs were involved in a backstage fight. These all began at AEW All Out media scrum, where CM Punk blamed Kenny Omega and The Young Buck for spreading bogus rumors. Punk also blamed Colt Cabana during the press conference.

However, moments after CM Punk left the press conference, Kenny Omega and Young Bucks went to the Punk’s locker room to discuss the matter. Things then got out of control and a huge brawl took place between CM Punk, Ace Steel, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks.

AEW President Tony Khan then suspended from AEW everyone who was involved in the backstage fight and hired an independent investigation firm to investigate the entire melee.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer has reported that one of CM Punk’s good friends Ace Steel has been released from the company due to a backstage altercation.

So he was officially released yesterday. So I guess that is the first bit of news out of that whole situation in weeks. There’s a lot of other stuff going on.

Ace Steel started his job as a producer in AEW earlier this year. Steel appeared on the August 31st episode of AEW Dynamite, where he encouraged Punk to challenge the AEW World Title at All Out pay-per-view.

We will update you when we receive more details. Stay tuned with The Spotlight.
