WATCH: Kenny Omega Breaks Character To Address Fans After AEW Dynamite Went Off Air

Kenny Omega dropped the AEW World Championship to Adam Page at Full Gear pay-per-view in November last year. Following the match, Omega took a nine-month hiatus from AEW television to recover from various injuries sustained throughout his career.

On last night’s AEW Dynamite, Kenny Omega made his shocking return as The Young Bucks’ mystery partner for the AEW World Trios Tag Team Championship tournament quarterfinals match.

In the main event, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks wrestled Andrade El Idolo, Rush and Dragon Lee. The Elite was able to defeat La Faccion Ingobernable to qualify for the next round in the tournament. The final match of the AEW World Trios Tag Team Championship tournament is scheduled to take place at All Out on September 4th at the Now Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

After AEW Dynamite went off the air, Kenny Omega said the following words to the fans at the Charleston Coliseum arena.

Somehow, by a stroke of luck, and because these guys [Young Bucks] are better than you even know, we were able to survive tonight,

And maybe I should be mad, too, because the reason why I'm in this state right now, the reason I have to have three, sometimes four sessions of physical rehab every single day, is because of you. Maybe I should hate each and every one of you because I come back out here for you guys. It's never for me.

So, on TV, I may blame you guys, I may hold resentment towards you guys. But perhaps, deep down inside, as long as this never gets aired, I do very much appreciate you. Thank you very much.
