This year’s WWE Extreme Rules is going to be an interesting premium live event. Last year’s show received a huge backlash from WWE fans due to having only one gimmick match for the entire show. Roman Reigns defended his Universal Championship against Finn Balor in an Extreme Rules match at the 2021 event and Reigns won the match in a controversial fashion. But many fans are excited to see the show this year under Triple H’s regime.
Today, WWE announced that Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Ridge Holland & Butch) will battle Imperium (Gunther, Giovanni Vinci & Ludwig Kaiser) in a six-man tag team Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match at Extreme Rules. With that bout, there are six matches have been officially announced for the show so far.
Xero News reported that WWE planning to add another match for Extreme Rules. They stated that the match between Braun Strowman and The Alpha Academy in a 2-on-1 Handicap match with a special stipulation (one of Strowman's hands tied behind his back) to be added for Extreme Rules.
WWE Extreme Rules is set to take place on October 8th from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA.
